Sumlang Lake is a picturesque man-made lake located in Camalig, Albay, Philippines. It is a 14-hectare lake that was once filled with lilies but has since undergone a massive cleanup, revealing its true beauty. The lake is known for its clear waters and the reflection of Mount Mayon, which is said to be the single body of water that can catch the perfect reflection of the famous volcano. Here are some important information so you can properly plan your next visit to Sumlang Lake.
How to Get to Sumlang Lake
- Head to downtown Legazpi City.
- Ride a jeepney heading to Camalig, Guinobatan, or Polangui.
- Ask the driver to drop you off at Sumlang Lake or Albay Agri Ethno Eco Village.
- From there, Sumlang Lake is just a 5-minute walk (300 meters from the national highway).
- Alternatively, you can charter a tricycle.
How to Book your Tour to Sumlang Lake

When you get to the lake, can do activities such as kayaking in the clear waters of the lake while gazing up at the historical Mayon Volcano. Additionally, you can enjoy a relaxing ride on a bamboo raft while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Albay. The cost for the tours is a little over P1,000 per person. - Picnicking: Enjoy local delicacies like pinangat, bicol express, and pili dishes with friends and family.

- Parking: ₱10 for two- and three-wheel vehicles, and ₱20 for cars
- Balsa Ride: ₱80 per person for 30 minutes

Tips for Visiting Sumlang Lake
- Sumlang Lake is open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM.
- The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon to see the reflection of Mount Mayon in the water.
- Respect the environment and do not pick up plants.
- Throw your trash in the proper disposal bins.
- Do not leave your things unattended.
