Salagdoong is probably the most popular beach in the entire island of Siquijor. It is located in the town of Maria, along with other nearby tourist spots like Kagusuan Beach. Salagdoong Beach is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and famous cliff jumping spots, it offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adrenaline-pumping activities.

How to get to Salagdoong Beach?
Salagdoong Beach is located on the south eastern side of Siquijor Island, within the town of Maria.
There are several multicabs and jeepneys traversing the national highway coming from San Juan. If you are on a generous budget, I suggest to hire a tricycle or habal-habal tour guide. Their rate is around P1,000 for the entire Siquijor island which will take almost the entire day.
If you would really like to go to the beach by public transport, the best I could suggest is drop off at Maria town proper and hire a tricycle/habal-habal from there. No multicabs or jeepneys traverse the inner roads going to Salagdoong Beach.

Can I stay overnight?
Yes, you can stay overnight at Salagdoong Beach Resort itself. The resort has rooms for guests who would like to stay overnight. Although I haven’t seen the rooms, I highly recommend staying in Salagdoong so you could enjoy the beach and the activities offered by the resort longer.

There are also several accommodation options available outside of Salagdoong Beach but still nearby. Here are some of the options:
It’s recommended to book your accommodation in advance, especially during peak seasons, to ensure availability.
The Beach Resort
Salagdoong Beach Resort is owned and managed by the government. You will find the resort quite developed as concrete tables/benches and cottages line up in an area overlooking the shore. There are also barbeque pits available for guests, as well as man-made slides and cliff-jumping boards.
It can get crowded and rowdy during the weekends, especially holidays, but during our visit, there were only a few families, mostly foreigners, visiting the resort.
Once you enter the resort, you will notice a small limestone karst on the right side of the beach. This is where all the activities are for the more adventurous ones. Here, you can enjoy sliding down and jumping from the cliff.
There are 2 jumping points – one at 20 feet and another at 30 feet. I’ve noticed that there were no lifeguards in the area. Some of the guests asked their tour guides (who also know how to swim) to accompany them while cliff jumping. Safety first, always.

There is also this area at the other side of the limestone karst where a small cove sprouts. The cove has shallow waters and shaded areas, which makes it very child-friendly. I suppose Salagdoong would be one of the beaches that would allow kids to fully enjoy their Siquijor experience — another reason for you to choose to stay overnight here if you have kids.
