Our Review of Hotel H2O
Check-in
The check-in process was a breeze, thanks to the warm and efficient front desk staff. They were not only pleasant but also extremely helpful, assisting me with my luggage all the way from the drop-off area to my room. We had to wait for a few minutes as they check the room and was on the way up before we know it. They even gave us some refreshments/welcome drinks while we waited. Their friendliness and the way they inquired about my stay each time I passed by the reception made me feel genuinely welcome.
Room and Jacuzzi
The executive suite was a haven of comfort. Spacious and well-appointed, it came with all the promised amenities, as detailed in the booking confirmation. The jacuzzi which was overlooking the bay was a particular delight which is exactly the reason why I booked this room type. My husband, whose birthday we were celebrating, absolutely loved it. The hotel even added a thoughtful touch with a simple birthday banner in the room and some scrumptious bite-sized brownies in the evening. The free WiFi was speedy, allowing me to relax and do some research without any connectivity issues.
The only issue I have is that the room has a lot of stairs. Once you enter the room, you’ll have to take a few flights of stairs to get to the bed and if you want to eat in the dining area, you’ll have to go up again. Same is the case in the jacuzzi. If you want to go to the jacuzzi from your bedroom, there’s another flight of stairs you’ll have to take. Not an issue but I can just imagine this being too difficult for someone with mobility issues. But overall, the room was good.
View of the Bay
The suite offered a mesmerizing view of Manila Bay, especially during sunset. The calming effect of watching the sun dip below the horizon from the comfort of my room was truly unforgettable. This was the first time we’re staying in a hotel with a view of the Manila Bay and it definitely was a good first time. Too bad we only had to stay for one night so we only witnessed the sunset from up here once. Definitely something worth remembering!
Breakfast at Makan Makan
Breakfast at Makan Makan was a treat, with delicious offerings and staff who went above and beyond. They even made my husband’s birthday breakfast memorable, which speaks volumes about their dedication to guest experiences. The buffet choices were sufficient given the number of guests. The food was always replenished and never ran out. Coffee and the other beverages were also superb!
Dinner at White Moon Bar
The White Moon Bar provided a perfect setting for dinner, with its second-floor location offering live music and a view of the blue sea. Given it’s location and how filthy Manila Bay can be, surprisingly, it was not as smelly as we expected it would be. I guess the bad small coming from Manila Bay is only experienced some place else but here in the White Moon Bar, everything was just the way it should be. The ambiance was just right for winding down after a tiring day at the Manila Ocean Park.
In conclusion, our stay at the H2O Hotel was largely enjoyable, marked by excellent service, a comfortable room with a fantastic jacuzzi, and a stunning bay view. While there are areas that need attention, the positives outweigh the negatives. I would rate my experience at the H2O Hotel a solid 4 out of 5, and I am looking forward to booking another stay in the future, hoping to see some of the mentioned improvements.
