Our Review of the Place

I am a Boholana but May 2017 was my first time in Buzzz Cafe and Bohol Bee Farm in Dauis, Panglao. Never has it crossed my mind to visit the place, maybe because it was too far from my hometown Maribojoc and I’ve always thought that you have to have your own transportation if you want to get here.

We came from Alona Beach when we decided to visit the place so it was relatively convenient. It was only a few kilometers away from where we were staying in Alona, anyway, so might as well.

Buzzz Cafe is the restaurant of Bohol Bee Farm but most people would refer to the entire place as Bohol Bee Farm, including the restaurant.

Apart from the restaurant, the place also has a resort complete with swimming pools, bar and massage services. If you would like to read our review about the resort, check it out here: A Family Overnight Trip in Bohol Bee Farm Resort

This is also where they keep their garden, which guests, including walk-ins, are allowed to roam around. In fact, they do have a free tour every 30 minutes to showcase their garden and the mini-factories where they manufacture their organic goodies like pastries, seasonings, spreads and even skin care products (all-natural of course!).

The entire place is obviously huge. The parking area was more than sufficient and their open area and gardens will make you lose a few pounds walking around it.

You will be welcomed at the receiving area where the reception is, along with the souvenir shop, Kape Bee and Bar and the ice cream parlor. The receiving area is all brick and wood, which sets off a very rustic feel making the atmosphere very homey and cozy.

There are couches and center tables around the area where guests can rest after the Bee Farm tour or have a cup of coffee while lounging. We arrived at the receiving area, took a few photos and proceeded down to the restaurant area.

Our Review of the Restaurant

The restaurant is located towards the back-end right along the cliff overlooking the ocean. The view from the restaurant is spectacular and the foods served were all organic (which reminded me so much of Sonya’s Garden in Tagaytay) and ingredients came straight from their farm. Their menu included soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, among others. They also serve fresh fruit juices, fruit shakes and wine. Budget would be about P300-P500 per head, depending on how hungry you are.

There is a specific area in the restaurant which has a nicer view of the ocean as it protrudes closer to the cliff. Hopefully during your visit, you are able to get a table in this area. It’s usually preferred by most so it gets filled up rather quickly. We were not able to get a table here but below is a photo of a portion of it.

This restaurant indeed offer a unique and delightful dining experience. Since it’s perched on a cliff, you can get stunning ocean views while dining, providing a cozy and rustic atmosphere that adds to the overall charm of the place.

Our Review of the Food

The food served is not only delicious but also healthy and made from fresh, organic ingredients sourced from their own farm. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including the famous flower salad, cheese pizza with a hint of sweetness from honey, local marlin fish & chips, and tender grilled ribeye steak paired with a crisp salad and garlicky pasta.

To end the meal on a sweet note, Bohol Bee Farm offers creamy ice cream made with coconut milk in unique flavors like malunggay and durian.

Here are photos of the food that you can order from Bohol Bee Farm. All are highly recommended! Their seafood are very fresh, chicken is very tasty and vegetables are harvested right off their farm and straight to the kitchen.

The photos below are from our more recent trip back to Bohol Bee Farm when we checked in the resort.

The restaurant’s presentation is intriguing, the service is top-notch, and the overall dining experience is one that both kids and adults will surely enjoy and remember for a long time. If you appreciate healthy, organic food in a picturesque setting, dining at Bohol Bee Farm is a must-try experience that promises a memorable culinary journey.

How to go to Bohol Bee Farm

There are several ways to commute going to Bohol Bee Farm from any point in Panglao Island or Tagbilaran City:

  • If you are coming from Tagbilaran City, you can hire a tricycle to take you straight to Bohol Bee Farm. I don’t think there is a tariff that they strictly follow so the fare will depend on your negotiating skills. The fare can range between P300 to P500.
  • You can also opt to take a jeepney from Tagbilaran City. There are two terminals with jeepneys heading straight for Panglao. One is Dao Integrated Bus Terminal and the other one is the Panglao terminal near Community Hospital Tagbilaran. Just ask the tricycle to bring you to either one of these terminals depending on which one is nearer where you are. Once you get to the terminal and before you hop on the jeepney, make sure you are hopping on the right one. There are 3 major thoroughfares in Panglao so make sure that the one you’re on will be passing through Bohol Bee Farm.
  • You can also charter a private transport, which would expectedly be more expensive but it should come with extra convenience especially if you are traveling with elderlies and kids and if you are traveling in big groups. To book a private transport ahead of time, click here: Bohol Private Car Charter
