One of the hotel’s strongest suits is its proximity to SM City Cebu. Bayfront Hotel’s prime location just a few steps away from this popular mall adds an extra layer of convenience to your stay. The proximity to this bustling shopping hub opens up a myriad of options for dining and shopping. Whether you crave a cozy cup of coffee from Bo’s Coffee, a refreshing drink from BonAppetea, or the global flavors of Gong Cha, you’ll find it all within arm’s reach. This strategic location allows you to explore the city’s vibrant offerings without venturing too far from your comfortable abode.
Ideal for Northbound Travelers – A Stone’s Throw from the North Bus Terminal
For those planning a journey north, Bayfront Hotel’s proximity to the North Bus Terminal makes it an ideal choice for an overnight stay. It is a few minutes away from the North Bus Terminal so if you are looking to spend the night before you travel north, this is the best option you have. A quick Grab or Uber ride (ah, the good old Uber days!) takes you to the terminal, ensuring a hassle-free transition for your onward travels. Remarkably, the cost is a mere PHP 68 (approximately USD 1.30), making it a budget-friendly and practical choice.
Budget-Friendly Luxury
Bayfront Hotel strikes the perfect balance between quality and affordability. I think it’s considered a business hotel but surprisingly, the price didn’t hurt our pockets. The superior twin room, priced at just P2,181 (approximately USD 42) per night for two people, comes with the added perk of a complimentary buffet breakfast. This proves that comfort and a good night’s sleep need not come with a hefty price tag.
Cleanliness and Comfort
The superior twin room that we were assigned to, though not offering scenic views, boast adequacy and, most importantly, cleanliness. What we can see from our window was a building right beside it that being constructed but sometimes, a clean and cozy space matters more than a picturesque window. After all, you’re likely to spend most of your time exploring the city, not gazing out the window, and we only stayed for a couple of nights.

Thoughtful Amenities – Beyond the Basics
While Bayfront Hotel may not be as generous as other hotels with its complimentary toiletries, the essentials are there. And let’s be honest – how often do we truly indulge in those miniature shampoos and lotions? I rarely find myself using hotel complimentary toiletries unless they really smell good. Usually, I just take them home with me to take up valuable space in my luggage that I could have used for something else then eventually throw them away. LOL!
Integrated USB Chargers
A standout feature, particularly loved by us, is the integrated USB charger found in the rooms. This amenity, typically seen in 5-star hotels, is a thoughtful inclusion catering to the modern traveler’s needs. For guests who often forget their power adapters or have multiple gadgets, this feature is a true lifesaver.
Tech-Savvy Touches – Farewell to Traditional DND Signs
In a nod to modernity, Bayfront Hotel has bid farewell to the traditional Do Not Disturb cardboards. It’s nothing new but for a mid-tier business hotel, this subtle shift signifies the hotel’s commitment to keeping up with the latest technology trends, providing guests with a contemporary and seamless experience.
Breakfast Experience – Fair and Cozy
The breakfast buffet at Bayfront Hotel offers a modest yet adequate selection of dishes, providing a an energetic start to your day. While the menu might not dazzle with culinary innovation or exotic flavors, it covers the basics decently. My husband found the corned beef reminiscent of the familiar Argentina brand – a taste that might not appeal to everyone.
It’s worth noting, however, that the dining area can feel somewhat cramped, particularly as it fills up post 7:30 AM. An early breakfast is advisable to avoid the rush and ensure a more relaxed dining experience. Early birds catch the worm, and in this case, a less crowded dining space.
On our visit, the cozy space meant we shared our table with another guest – not a common occurence in our stays in different hotels. This situation hints at a potential area for improvement: expanding the dining area to better accommodate the morning influx of guests. Hopefully, this is a change the hotel will consider to enhance the overall experience of future patrons.

Despite the flaws I mentioned, Bayfront Hotel still emerges as our preferred choice in Cebu City, balancing convenience, comfort, and modern amenities with impressive ease. Its thoughtful features, such as the integrated USB chargers, and strategic location, cater to a wide range of travelers, making it an ideal base for your Cebu adventure.
